Sadeh’s retreat centre

Are you organising a school trip? Youth club? Writer's group? Sadeh's retreat centre is the space for you.

The retreat centre is situated in Kent, set in seven acres of beautiful greenbelt countryside. It is the only fully kosher retreat residence still in operation in the UK and is easily accessible from London and beyond. It is a communal facility in the fullest sense of the word, used by youth groups, schools and synagogues from a cross-section of the Jewish community and beyond.

Education

Please see a list of the activities and workshops we offer for retreat groups and at your location.

Environment

Sadeh is an environmental charity with regenerative culture at its heart. Please see our environmental policy here.

Recreation

We have lots of onsite facilities including an indoor swimming pool, zip wire, tennis court, obstacles, footballs and indoor table tennis.

Kosher

The centre has been in the Jewish community since the ’40s and is the only Kosher retreat centre in the UK. We have a kosher Eruv which covers half the field, Mezuzahs on every door, a range of siddurim, benchers and Shabbat room lights on request.

Bedrooms

We have 10 bedrooms with 74 beds including an accessible barn room.  Have a look at our room layouts here.

History

Skeet Hill House was purchased by The Jewish Youth Fund (JYF) in 1943 for use by the The Brady Boys’ Club as a place of respite from the difficulties and dangers of life in the war-torn East End of London. There are many wonderful photos of the Brady Club at Skeet Hill House documented here.
